NEW BRITAIN EVENTS PROGRAMME ARCHIVE - 2007

SATURDAY 27 JANUARY - AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND CELEBRATION

Celebration to mark the National Days of Australia and New Zealand. Wreath laid at statue behind St Paul’s Cathedral of Admiral Arthur Phillip, first Governor of  Australia and founder of Sydney then to St Olave’s Hall for a Reception.   Guests of Honour Sir Michael Savory, Lord Mayor of London 2005 and His Worship the Mayor of the London Borough of Hillingdon. All attending were invited to sign messages of friendship to the Prime Ministers of Australia and New Zealand.

MONDAY 12 MARCH - COMMONWEALTH DAY

Service in Westminster Abbey attended by The Queen.   The National Chairman represented New Britain.

MONDAY 23 APRIL - ST GEORGE’S DAY

Day of Prayer for England, please go into a church and say prayers for England.   New Britain sold buttonhole St George’s flags on the streets which raised £246 for  the Treloar Trust for disabled children.   

WEDNESDAY 9 MAY - EUROPE DAY

Marched down Whitehall to hand in a letter at 10 Downing Street asking for a Referendum on whether the United Kingdom should be in the European Union and then on to the UK headquarters of the European Union in Queen’s Anne Gate to hand in a letter asking why the EU accounts have not been audited for 12 years.   The march  escorted by the Metropolitan Police.

TUESDAY 22 MAY - THE GOLDSMITH LECTURE

In memory of Sir James Goldsmith.   Speakers The Rt Hon Lord Tebbit CH and Professor Stephen Bush. Chairman Dennis Delderfield, National Chairman New Britain 7pm at Lecture Hall, University College London.   The lecture had the approval of Lady Annabel Goldsmith.

SATURDAY 16 JUNE -  KEEP THE UNITED KINGDOM UNITED DAY

Trooping of the Colour in the presence of HM The Queen.   Line the route to cheer The Queen then lunch at St Saviours Hall, Pimlico followed at 3pm by the Keep the United Kingdom United Pageant with songs and readings from Wales, Scotland Northern Ireland and England.    Professional singers from England and Wales.

SUNDAY 1 JULY - CANADA’S  NATIONAL DAY

Assemble at the National Maritime Museum , Greenwich at 12.30 pm then process to St Alfege Church, Greenwich to sing the Canadian National Anthem, lay a wreath on the grave of General James Wolfe who was responsible for Canada becoming part of the British Empire and signing a message of friendship to the Prime Minister of Canada.  

SATURDAY 28 JULY - SIR FRANCIS DRAKE

A game of bowls at Plymouth HoeIn memory of Sir Francis Drake who was bowling on Plymouth Hoe in July before setting sail to defeat the Spanish Armada, The Lord Mayor of Plymouth played a game of bowls on Plymouth Hoe with Dennis Delderfield, National Chairman, New Britain. 

This was followed by a bowling match between two expert teams and then there was a public meeting when the National Chairman spoke on why we must fight for freedom as Drake did.

SUNDAY 16 SEPTEMBER - BATTLE OF BRITAIN DAY 

New Britain was invited to attend an official service at the RAF Church of St Clement Danes, Strand at 11am when there were fanfares and the Queen’s Colour Squadron paraded the Royal Air Force Ensign   Afterwards to the RAF Museum at Hendon for lunch and conducted tour of the Museum.

MONDAY 8 OCTOBER - GIBRALTAR MEETING

7pm St Katherine Cree Hall, Leadenhall Street, City of London,  Speaker Mr Albert A Poggio OBE, United Kingdom Representative of the Government of Gibraltar.

TRAFALGAR CELEBRATIONS

FRIDAY 19 OCTOBER 11.30am
The Dean and Chapter of St Paul’s Cathedral allow New Britain to lay a wreath on the tomb of Nelson  at the official Royal Navy ceremony in the Cathedral.

SATURDAY 20 0CTOBER 7pm
Trafalgar Dinner at the historic Nothe Fort, Weymouth attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Weymouth.

SUNDAY 21 OCTOBER 2.30pm
Trafalgar Day Lunch at the historic Trafalgar Tavern, Greenwich. Guest of Honour Bob Crouch MVO who was for 12 years Bargemaster to HM The Queen, past Master of the Worshipfuil Company of Lightermen & Watermen, winner of the Doggetts Coat and Badge race in 1958.

SUNDAY 11 NOVEMBER - REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

New Britain has been invited by The Royal Navy to join in the official ceremony and lay a wreath at the Royal Navy War Memorial at Chatham.   This will be attended by the Mayor of  Medway and the Admiralty will send a senior officer.

At 3pm, New Britain Time of Remembrance and Rededication at St Lawrence Jewry Church, Gresham Street  conducted by the Rev David Burgess, Prebendary of St Paul’s Cathedral, Chaplain to H M The Queen followed at 3.30pm by a procession led by a bagpiper to the Garden of Remembrance in St  Paul’s Cathedral churchyard where a poppy wreath and crosses will be laid.

FRIDAY 30 NOVEMBER - ST ANDREW’S DAY

The National Chairman of New Britain attends a ceremony in Scotland.

THE CREDIBLE PATRIOTIC POLITICAL PARTY OF THE FUTURE

Throughout the year the National Chairman of New Britain will be speaking at public meetings throughout the country warning of the dangers facing the United Kingdom.

In 2008 Dennis Delderfield, National Chairman of New Britain is considering standing against Ken Livingstone in the election of a Mayor of London.
